Brighter Ways Psychology was founded to provide thoughtful, personalised psychological support to children, young people, families, and adults. Grounded in compassion and clinical expertise, the service offers a space where individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward with clarity and confidence.

About

Dr Sophie Foster is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist who completed her doctoral training at the University of Liverpool. She currently works within the NHS in a specialist service for children and young people with autism and/or learning disabilities who also experience complex emotional and behavioural needs.
Sophie has a background in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Her clinical practice is informed by a range of evidence-based models, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).
She is experienced working with neurodiverse children and young people, and offers thoughtful, family-focused support to help parents and carers better understand and respond to their child’s individual needs. Sophie’s approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centred, with a strong commitment to tailoring therapy to each client’s unique experiences and goals.
